Food for the community

This garden serves as community hubs that support the BIA's efforts to improve the quality of life for all residents. We encourage all Broadmoorians to stop by and engage with this green space as an individual or group cultivated by Broadmoor resident Dr. Jelagat Cheruiyot of Tulane University and her Urban Agroecology and Sustainability in New Orleans and service learning course students and interns.

Broadmoor food forest
An emerging community gathering space that features garden beds, tables and seating, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Explore this thriving space with us and participate in some fun activities to keep this garden thriving! Produce grown in this garden helps us increase food security in the neighborhood. Contributions from this garden are given to our Broadmoor Food Pantry and friends of this garden who help out. This site is making fresh fruits and vegetables available to neighbors who help out in this garden. The Food Forest would benefit from engagement by you and your family!
