Broadmoor Block Captain Duties

Block Captain Duties

Our Block Captains are a vital resource to the restoration of the community, and the BIA values their continued commitment.

1. What is a block?A block is what you make of it. For example, if you have surveyed all the neighbors in the 2200 block on both sides of the street, think about turning the corner, or heading to the 2300 block, then the 2400 block. We have very thin representation, especially in Subgroups A and B. If you can take on an extra block, go for it.

2. First source of information. Updated versions of the “I’m Back. Now What?” information packet are available at the BIA office or online as a PDF. Consult and distribute these as necessary to returning residents that need advice on available resources such as restoring utilities, medical centers, schooling options, etc.

3. Check the BIA website regularly. The BIA website is the best “one-stop-shop” for upcoming events, news and important alerts affecting all Broadmoor residents.

4. Report neighborhood issues. To report concerns such as blighted homes and abandoned vehicles to criminal activity and neighbor issues, Quality of Life forms are available as postcards at the BIA office which residents can fill-out and return by mail. Alternatively, if residents have internet access, these forms can be filled out as an online survey. The link is posted on the main page of the BIA website.
*Feel free to pick up a handful of these cards at the office, or direct residents to the BIA website.

5. Keep us updated on residents’ contact information. As residents return or new neighbors move in, please suggest that they update their contact information with the BIA. The best method is to fill out the online “Update Address” survey, available on the BIA website.

Thank you for all your efforts!
